CHALLENGING OCFS

The New York OCFS is overhwelmed with cases. Thus they have a long history of not following the law and not allowing people the right to challenge their charges. If you have been contact by OCFS you must challenge the findings as soon as possible. The law only gives you 90 days to ask for a review and a hearing. OCFS does not want to do a lot of hearings. Thus, they have an interest in closing your file as soon as possible.
